In our clinics we use since 1987 a technique called "immediate load implantology", which follows the protocols of the Italian School of Implantology, established more than 50 years ago.
This technique allows allows to use right away the implants inserted into the bone, by using temporary teeth made on the same day.
The missing or extracted teeth are replaced on the same day of the surgery. Basically, on the same day the patient goes to the clinic, without teeth or with the roots that need to be extracted, and goes home already with the temporary teeth.
- Less trauma for the patient
- Less invasiveness
- No incisions (except for extremely rare cases)
- No ungluing to the gums
- Minimum injury for the bone
- Absence of post-operative edemas (in the vast majority of cases)
- The possibility of executing the implants even with the presence of reduced bone tissue thanks to the particular conformation of the implant (long and thin neck, large spirals)
- Better structural resistance of the implants in order to weld them together with a plank (electro-welded technique)
- Use of the bone in all its extension and where it is present
We avoid, if possible, executing indaginosi And complex surgeries that require a higher biological cost for the patient, for example the maxillary sinus lift surgery, split crest, bone grafts that involve the sample of little blocks of bone from the cranium, the hip of the patient or other parts of the mouth, that will restore the bone considered missing.
These more complex surgeries are obviously burdened by major complications and naturally, more financial charges.
For this reason, and many others that we’re not going to address here, we chose to continue doing a more human implantology, kinder towards the patient and also less expensive. There are in fact other implantology techniques, also called osseontegrated implantology.
These techniques turn out to be an actual sequence of surgeries that are usually more invasive, indaginosi? complicated and that demand much more time both from the patient and the odontologist. In some cases, even more than a year.
In addition, at this stage the patient has to wear a movable prothesis or otherwise remain without teeth, with consequent discomfort at eating, talking and in every social relationship.
The patient must undergo more numerous sessions of adjustment at the dentist.
These techniques are also burdened by a high level of peri-implantar infections until over the 40% of the cases after 4 years, according to the latest research.
With the Italian School technique, immediate load single-phase implantology, this kind of problems do not arise.
We have the adequate experience to confirm that, since the first implants that were implanted over 30 years ago have, with our satisfaction, remained in place and working. In addition, and not least, this technique allows a significant cost reduction.
